How it works

The AI uses a two-bounce lookahead. When the ball is heading toward the paddle, it calculates every reachable catch position, then for each one simulates the exact bounce angle and resulting ball flight. It scores each candidate by the bricks it would break over two bounces, with a heavy penalty for losing the ball. The paddle moves toward the highest-scoring catch point.

Tap Viz to watch the AI think. A grey dashed line shows the ball’s predicted flight. Coloured dots along the paddle mark candidate catch positions — green for high-scoring, red for low-scoring — with a bright green ring around the chosen target. A green dashed line traces the post-bounce trajectory, and a dot at the far end shows whether the second catch is reachable.
